Car was prepared for the 2007 centenary Peking to Paris Rally at a cost of over £ 25,000 using a concourse car as the basis. The structural
integrity of the car is unquestionable and even post rally the car is still in outstanding condition. The car was successfully campaigned in
the 2007 Peking to Paris rally by a female team who received a bronze award for their successful completion of the entire route.
RALLY MODIFICATIONS, INCLUDING:
Mechanical
- Rally Radial Tyres with three mounted spares.
- Heavy duty shock absorbers and a set of adjustable Spax shocks as spare.
- Strengthened chassis with integrated skid beams running the length of the car
- Steel plating protecting the engine/drivetrain at the front and axle at the rear
- modern universal driveshafts in place of the traditional universal joint units
- Special side exit exhaust system fitted – counter acting exhaust related ground clearance issues that traction avants suffer on rougher surfaces.
- Piper X serviceable foam air filter
- Twin fuel tanks for long range.
Safety/Interior
- Motolita leather steering wheel
- Sparco driver and passenger rally seats.
- Inertia reel and 3 point Willians harnesses fitted
Electrics
- Electrics converted to 12 volts
- Secondary fuse box professionally and very tidily installed to support all the electrical rally ancillaries.
- Navigator footrest with integrated foot operated navigator horn button
- Map light
- Front and rear fog lamps
- Voltmeter
- Pre-wired for Satellite phone/GPS
RECENT POST 2007 PEKING TO PARIS IMPROVEMENTS & REPAIRS:
Car was purchased in summer 2009 upon which the following work was commissioned
- Replacement of all fluids
- New radiator and thermostat
- New universal driveshafts
- New front brake drums
- New brake pads front and rear
- Replaced front wings (originals were damaged in the P2P rally) with original stock steel items and had new reinforced/strengthened steel bracketry fabricated.
- Full tear down and rebuild of the engine including full new gasket sets.
- Countless other smaller items addressed
The car is presented in full running order and is ready to participate in the next event. The car will be sold with a fresh MOT and historic tax disc, and FIVA documents. The car will be sold with an extensive spares package. Inspections are highly recommended as the car presents itself very proudly.
